Hello everyone and welcome back to The Selfish Column. It has been a hot minute since you saw me write an article, but I promise it has been for good reasons. The last two years have been hectic on my end, with planning a wedding, enjoying the newlywed months, and transitioning to pregnancy and now motherhood. Nevertheless, it has been a very blessed and fruitful season in my life.
Throughout all these changes in my life, I always kept self-care as one of my fallbacks when I needed to recharge. During my pregnancy and now postpartum, I have been using the Lancôme Absolue line in my nightly routine. One of the main ingredients in the Absolue is rose, and for a girl that does not like rose-scented products in their perfume or skincare products, this formula knocks it out of the park. It is not irritating to the skin and the scent is very well balanced.
The Absolue line offers a variety of products for all your skin’s needs. The products that I have been using are The Rose 80 Toning Lotion, Absolue The Serum, and Regenerating Soft Cream. Below I break down my thoughts on each product.

The Lancôme website description of the toning lotion is “a potent formula enriched with our highest concentration of rose actives”. Rose, as an Ingredient is packed with antioxidants and minerals. Its oils are great for those with dry skin (coskincare.com). The first evening using the Rose 80 toner, I instantly felt the hydration on my skin. The moisturizing aspect of the formula is immediately noticeable. It gives the skin a rich and luxurious feeling that you usually get from spa-grade products. This toner is made with 80% skin-soothing rosewater, and you can definitely feel the difference once you apply this to your skin. What I love about this toner is that it really stays on the skin and continues to keep your skin hydrated throughout the night.

I had the pleasure of using this at a time when my skin was changing the most. I was pregnant when I started using this serum and continued using it throughout my postpartum. It really helped in the days I suffered from fatigue due to lack of sleep and the ever-changing skin concerns that come with pregnancy and postpartum. This serum is full of cell-renewing and anti-aging ingredients. The serum is the crème de la crème of its kind. Perfect for those with mature skin and made with perpetual rose molecular fractions. Lancôme’s patented Absolue Perpetual Rose is a unique hybrid rose with more than 80 white, scented petals. The uniqueness of this Rose doesn’t stop there, unlike other roses this rose blossoms all year round. The formula is very rich, applies very warm to the skin, and a little (and I mean very little) goes a long way. This added a great touch to my after-birth routine. I had this as part of my hospital bag along with the rest of the products mentioned here. If your skin concerns fall under dullness, unevenness, fine lines, and fatigue, this serum might be perfect for you.

The soft cream is infused with Grand Rose Extracts. Grand Rose is great for protecting the skin from “external aggressors that accelerate aging”. This cream is undeniably super soft and lightweight, feels like whipped butter on your fingertip and melts right into the skin. I was able to add this cream to both my nighttime and daytime skincare routine. If you are looking for a product that can firm the skin leaving it plumper, and supports the renewing of skin cells, this product might be for you.
